Every
Single
One
Of his
Traits
That
Annoys the hell out of me -
I possess.
Coincidentally.

Is that what attracted you to him..
initially?

David, isnt that always the case?

David_on_the_Lake said...

It does seem that way..
Buy why?

Uh...er...not to break up this discussion or nuthin', but I wasn't talking about my husband. :)

That observation is common; I see it in some of my mother-in-law's more negative traits, and even in my children's frowned-upon traits. And then I think, "Who am I to talk...?"

I feel some deep psychology behind that one, your poems are real food for thought.

Genendy...
You're not supposed to say that.
You should let Scholars argue for years over who you might've been referring to ;-)

Pearl - *Breathing a sigh of relief*, after reading your comment, I started to think maybe I could actaually admit who I was talking about.

TB - After reading your comment, I can definitely admit that I was talking about my son. And ditto on the hubby thing (all of it).

David - Well, now that the Scholars know who I was referring to, if they need something to argue about, they can argue over what I meant by "coincidentally".

Prag - Thank you. If you ever feel like sharing what it made you think, I'd be glad to hear it.

I believe it was the Ba'al Shem Tov or the Ba'al HaTanya who pointed out that when you notice flaws in others, they are yours. More specifically, if those traits make you angry, then you know it's your problem too.

Fancy - Very well said, but you forgot the 3rd. graders' version:

"Whatever you say to me goes back to you!"

NB - Maybe we should start a support group - AMA - Annoyed Mothers Anonymous.

yikes my baby is still just a baby... stuff to look forward to? Uh oh!

Genendy said...

NB - lol - You reminded me of the time my mother told me "I wish you have a child like you!" ...let's just say she didn't mean it as a blessing.

DJ - True

FG - Are you that bad? ;)

SX2 - Thanks

Nuboy - I like that.

...At the risk of sounding unedumucated, I must tell you that this is the first time I've heard of Carl Jung. So now I have you (and google) to thank for my knowledge (however limited) of him (and Zeno). Thanks!

Genendy said...

Well, after you mentioned him, I googled "Zeno", and got as much info as I needed - actually, more than I needed.

coming in late, but wow can I relate to this one... then again, isn't it nice when the little annoying voice in your head that says (stopitstopitstopit!) every time you say or do something stupid can be directed outwards instead of inwards? ;)

Genendy said...

Funny - I never thought of it what way. :)

Bonnie - as scary as it is, I think the same thing is happening to me.
